The Arizona Nursery Association is partnering with Hickman’s Family Farms and several other companies to help spruce up the Capitol landscape so it looks great for our centennial on February 14, 2012 . ANA thanks our members who have donated plants so far; Mountain States Wholesale Nursery, Baseline Trees, Western Tree Company, A & P Nurseries, Shady Way Gardens and Pima Valley Greenhouses. Plant Something Campaign
ANA received a USDA Specialty Crop Grant this last year to promote the nursery industry. To do this, ANA is working with Park & Co., professional advertising firm, to develop a state wide campaign promoting planting and the benefits that go along with it. The campaign debuted at the 2010 Earth Day celebration. To learn more about this campaign, visit www.plant-something.org

We have just under 10 acres of property in Chino Valley, AZ. The facility includes approximately 100,000 sqftofgreenhouses that are heated by natural gas. A majority of the greenhouses are benched including rolling benches with Biothermheating underneath. All of the greenhouse environments are controlled by computer using Qcom. This facility also includes automated hanging basket space. A majority of the greenhouses are irrigated by watering booms. A backup generator powered by natural gas is also on the property. All of the outdoor growing area is irrigated by sprinklers with clocks. There are also two large heated warehouse buildings and an office on the property as well as a loading dock large enough for box trucks. The two wells on this property delivery great water for growing.

We also have an operation in New River, AZ that is on approximately 17 acres of land. This facility also has around 100,000 of greenhouses heated by natural gas. All of the greenhouse space is benched and over half of the benches are rolling. The greenhouses are controlled by Qcom and include retractable shade in some of them. A diesel powered backup generator covers the facility in the event of a power outage. The outdoor growing spaces are watered by sprinklers on clocks and there are concrete sidewalks throughout. The facility has a shade area that is approximately 10,000 sqft. There is an office on the property and the loading dock is large enough to fit 3 full size semi trucks. There are two wells on the property with excellent water quality and capacity.
